2nd December 2018
Burnham’s Christmas lights were turned on at 5pm on Sunday 2nd December, 2018.
The ceremony took place opposite the Clock Tower, outside One Stop.
Burnham Town Council worked with the town’s churches, supported by Rayleigh Brass. Carols rang out and prayers were read in happy, well-attended ceremony.
The traditional ten-second countdown led to the Christmas Tree lights coming on.
There was a special visit from Santa and Mrs Claus, who arrived in style in a Rolls Royce – the reindeers were resting in preparation for Xmas Eve.
They then delivered presents to the attending children.
The Town Mayor, Cllr Wendy Stamp, was in attendance with other councillors.
Everyone was offered hot sausage rolls and mince pies.
Thank you everyone who came and made it possible.
And a Merry Christmas to all.
