The Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) must be considered if you intend to make any planning applications in Burnham on Crouch.
On 20 July 2017 the town’s residents voted overwhelmingly to approve the plan. 87% of those who voted, voted in favour of it.
The plan was then ‘made’ by Maldon District Council on 8th September, 2017, and then officially became part of the Local Development Plan (LDP) which is the District’s master local development plan .

Burnham on Crouch Neighbourhood Development Plan
The Development Zone
The black outlines on the map below shows the Development Zones – established housing zones where limited development is permitted.
Development is discouraged by the Neighbourhood Development Plan outside these zones and within the Parish borders except in the pastel orange Strategic Development areas marked S2 (i, j, k ) where new housing sites, permitted before the NDP, are now being built.
However MDC has the power to overrule the NDP, and as stated above, the LDP is the master plan.
The vertical green stripes indicate playing fields. The pink diagonal hatching denotes the Employment zones. The green crosses denote the Allotments.
