The Burnham on Crouch recycling centre is on Springfield Road, CM0 8TD.

Variously known as The Dump, the Tip, the Civic Amenity Site, etc, it is for household waste only.

It is run by Essex County Council.

From Monday 12 March 2023 you will have to book a slot online in advance to visit any  ECC recycling centre.  http://www.loveessex.org/bookings

Open:

16 October to end of February: 9am to 4pm each Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

1 March to 15 October: 9am to 5pm each Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

Closed:

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

Plus Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day

Closed from 1pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.

Vehicle and site restrictions

Vans, pick-ups and other commercial-type vehicles – including those privately owned – are not allowed to use this site.

Customers attempting to park prohibited vehicles outside the site and carry waste in will be turned away.

DIY waste including soil, hardcore, plasterboard, tiles, bathroom and kitchen units and doors – not accepted at this recycling centre.

Your nearest recycling centres that accepts vans and limited DIY waste are Chelmsford and Maldon.
