CLLR PAULA STANBURY

Paula Stanbury rejoined the town council in May 2023. Now retired, Paula has lived in Burnham for some 20 years. She has two sons, four grandchildren and is delighted that her youngest son and family live in Burnham, which serves, she says, to make her ‘very aware of the schooling and education problems in our town.’

Prior to retirement Paula worked in the Defence Industry, managing relationships with the Army and Navy – but since her retirement, she says, ‘my best experience has been the years spent volunteering with Citizens Advice in Maldon.’

Paula is excited ‘to be working with the new dynamic Council Team.’

Initially Paula will be working on Health & Wellbeing, Communications and Tourism but feels it is her mission to make Maldon District Council and Essex County Council understand how their decisions affect living in Burnham-on-Crouch. She is pleased to have started the initiative to invite Sir John Whittingdale to BOC to to discuss possible changes to the Burnham surgery thus giving the people of Burnham a voice.

Co-opted onto the Town Council in 2021 and, in May 2023, Paula was elected onto the council after standing as an independent candidate.
