COUNCILLOR DUNCAN RAWLINSON

Cllr Duncan Rawlinson was elected mayor in May 2023.

Duncan has lived in Burnham for the last 25 years having married a born-and-bred Burnham girl with whom he has twin daughters who are attending Ormiston Rivers Academy.

He has worked on the PTA for Burnham County Primary. His wife is Vice Chair of the Governors.

Having moved to Burnham from his home parish of the Waltham’s, just north of Chelmsford, he says he has ‘adopted Burnham as my home’.

Duncan currently works for the Environment Agency as a FCRM Officer, covering the Blackwater, Crouch and Thames Estuary.

He also spent several years on the RNLI lifeboat team in Burnham, firstly as shore crew and mechanic and then on the full boat crew.

Duncan says, ‘I look forward to the challenges ahead and to working with the other Town Councillors to make Burnham a better place for all.’

Duncan was co-opted onto the town council in July 2021, and, in May 2023, successfully stood as an Independent candidate in the North Ward.
