COUNCILLOR DOUG BOWN

Doug Bown was elected to the Town Council in May 2023, standing as a Conservative Party candidate

Doug Bown has lived in Burnham for 22 years. He has had four children, who have produced both grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Doug was a Volunteer Driver for Viking Maldon and latterly Community 360. He also served on the committee of the Dengie Hundred Bus Users Group .

Doug has enjoyed a varied career. Before he retired he was employed in Refuse and Recycling at Basildon Borough Council.

He stood for election for the first time in May 2023, and was duly elected to both the Town Council and Maldon District Council as a Conservative candidate.

Doug says he wants to ‘put the interests and needs of Burnham-on-Crouch more to the forefront.’
