Please see the below e-mail received from Maldon District Council :
I am writing to inform you of upcoming works this Sunday and next week to install tactile paving at Burnham-on-Crouch station.
This work will help those with impaired vision navigate the platforms safely and make these stations in your constituency more accessible to everyone. Network Rail is installing this type of paving at platforms across the railway network to improve safety and accessibility for vulnerable users and make stations across the country more welcoming spaces for all users.
The work will take place overnight, as it requires staff to be on or near the tracks and therefore requires trains not to be running. Our team will use a variety of equipment, including circular saws, breakers, grab wagons and power tools, and as a result some disturbance is unavoidable. However, every effort will be made to minimise any unnecessary noise, and those working on site are briefed on working responsibly in the local community. There will be no disruption to scheduled train services.
The works will be carried out at the following times:
Station | Start date | Start time | End time | End date |
Burnham-on-Crouch | Sunday 21st May | 23:00 | 06:00 | Monday 22nd May |
Burnham-on-Crouch | Monday 22nd May | 23:00 | 06:00 | Tuesday 23rd May |
Please rest assured that we have sent residents living near the station, who may be particularly affected by construction, letters to inform them of the time, nature, and impact of the works.
Kind regards,
Maldon District Council
