7th November 2023

A new Community Hub based at Maldon District Council Offices will provide a one-stop shop for residents to access a wide range of services and support.

One Maldon District, a partnership of organisations working together to improve the lives of residents, has set up the One Maldon District Community Hub, which will take place once a month at the Council’s offices in Princes Road from 10am – 1pm. The next event will be on Wednesday 15 November 2023 and the theme will be ‘Winter Pressures’.

There will also be talk at 11am, by Les Davis the Tri-Service Rural Community Officer on ‘home safety’ which will cover a wide range of topics.

The Hub provides an opportunity for residents to find out more about:

  • Housing and benefits advice
  • Employment support
  • Health and wellbeing services
  • Community activities and events

One Maldon District Community Hub is open to all residents of the Maldon District, and there is no need to make an appointment. The hub will have a different focus each month, with forthcoming themes including:

  • 13th December – Climate action
  • 15th January – Health and Wellbeing (this is a Monday instead of the usual Wednesday to coincide with Blue Monday!)
  • 21st February – Community Safety

Cllr Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, said ” I am pleased that the One Maldon District partnership is working together to deliver the community hub at our offices. I am sure residents will take up the regular opportunity, to just drop in for help and support, especially at this time when it is much needed.”

Chair of One Maldon District, Jane Gardner, said; “We are delighted to open the One Maldon District Community Hub. The hub is a place where residents can come to get help and support with a wide range of issues. We know that life can be tough for some people, and we want to make it as easy as possible for them to get the support they need.”

The Hub’s monthly theme and date will be advertised on @maldonDC Facebook page.
