Usually the Right of Way is lost through natural erosion in these circumstances. The sea walls are for the EA or for the landowner to maintain but they do not have to maintain it just to keep the footpath open. The England Coast Path (ECP) route follows this footpath and part of that scheme allows for a “roll-back” of the footpath as the erosion happens. When the ECP is formally opened in this area, we will be able to adjust the map alignments.
