Major roads Closed 15th August
The scheduled works are as follows:
- B1010 Lower Burnham Road, Althorne – Openreach road closure on 15 August, operating during the day from 08:00 to 16:00.
- B1018 Cold Norton Road, Latchingdon – road closure from 14–18 August, operating overnight only between 20:00 and 05:00.
As one closure is in place during daytime hours and the other operates overnight, there is no period when both routes are closed simultaneously. Road users will therefore continue to have access to and from the Dengie Peninsula throughout the duration of these works.
I appreciate your concern regarding the coordination of roadworks and diversion routes. Essex Highways and utility companies are required to coordinate works through the permitting process to minimise disruption to the travelling public, and the timings of these particular closures have been arranged to avoid the routes being closed at the same time.
