Burnham now has a memorial garden complete with a Tommy statue, a memorial bench and red cyclamen.

The cyclamen plants will be replaced by or augmented with ceramic poppies.

The project was designed and organised by the Sarah Grimes, the Town Clerk.

The installation work was done by The Limes – a local landscaping, plant and vegetable business.

The Tommy, which was installed at the Library in 2018 to mark the centennial commemorations of the end of the First World War, has now been given a permanent home here, next to the Council Offices, on the High Street corner of Chapel Road.

The ‘Tommy Garden’, as it is becoming known, is just across the road from the War Memorial.

Work was completed on 5th November, 2019.
