Applications open for creative industries and culture funds

Grants up to £30,000 available for successful applicants.

Creative businesses and cultural organisations in Essex can now apply for funding from two schemes.

The Creative Industries Project Fund and Cultural Development Project Fund are now open.

Now in their second year, the funds aim to grow and supporting local talent. They provide grants from £2,500 to £30,000 to successful applicants.

The Creative Industries Development Project Fund supports applications from creative industries. This includes art, film, TV, video games and photography sectors.

The Cultural Development Project Fund is open to cultural businesses and organisations. This includes galleries, museums, theatres, performing and visual arts groups.

Recent figures show that the creative and cultural sectors are significant to the county’s economy. In 2025, more than 7,500 creative Essex companies employed over 30,000 people.

Councillor Mark Durham, Cabinet Member for Arts, Heritage and Culture, said: “The creative industries are rightly recognised as one of the UK’s growth sectors, so it’s critical that investment in this sector continues.

“These funds will help Essex benefit from the economic growth opportunities that culture brings. The funds will also give local residents of all ages access to arts and culture projects.”

Applications to both funds should be submitted by 11.59pm on Friday 16 February 2026.
