COUNCILLOR NIGEL BETTS

I have had a strong connection to Burnham on Crouch for the past 40 years, visiting often as my wife grew up in this beautiful town. In 2021, we made the decision to move here permanently after living in Thurrock for 35 years. I have a deep appreciation for the unique character of Burnham on Crouch and am committed to seeing it thrive.

Community Involvement: I am actively involved in our local community as a VP for the Burnham on Crouch Rugby Club and enjoy playing indoor bowls at Jack’s Centre in Latchingdon. I believe in the importance of community engagement and strive to contribute positively to the activities and events that bring us together.

Professional Background: My professional journey began at the Tilbury Container Terminal, where I worked for 23 years, steadily advancing to the position of shift manager. After that, I transitioned to a self-employed role as a foreign exchange trader in the City of London, which allowed me to develop my skills in property investment and self-building. I successfully self-built my last two homes in Thurrock before relocating to Burnham on Crouch.

I am proud to be a father to two sons and a grandfather to two wonderful grandchildren. Family is at the heart of everything I do, and I am dedicated to ensuring that Burnham on Crouch remains a welcoming and vibrant place for future generations.

My Vision: As your councillor, I will advocate for the needs of our community, leveraging my experience and passion to support the growth and development of Burnham on Crouch. Together, we can preserve our town’s unique charm while fostering a bright future for all residents.

Let’s Enhance Our Community Together.
