On 5th July, the South Essex Parking Partnership published a proposed Traffic Regulation Order.
It seeks to provide a parking restriction on a Tuesday in part of the High Street to allow the street market to function.
They say: ‘The proposal seeks to prohibit waiting on a Tuesday between the hours of 7am to 2.30pm on Market Day, adjacent to the two parking areas on the north side between numbers 30 and 52 High Street. The proposal will achieve the desirability of securing and maintaining reasonable access for market traders to set up their stalls and to load and unload their goods.’
